Throughout the three years that we’ve been photographing weddings, we’ve seen a lot of great days. With each wedding day, we hear an amazing homily. After some time, the themes and words of these homilies began to blur together, but what stands out in our memories are the statements we most agree with. Kyle usually jokes with Amy about how much she nods during a homily when she agrees with the priest. Though we might not remember everything Fr. Holmer said during Karen and Jimmy’s nuptial Mass, we remember that Amy nodded her head a lot.
One point that remains vivid in our memories is just how much Karen and Jimmy’s wedding to one another felt right. Why? They met as teachers, but it wasn’t their love for school supplies and textbooks that made them fall in love. No, it was their love for God and His Church. That love for God brought them together, and their love for one another will now bring them closer to God. As we prayed “what God has joined together, let no man put asunder,” the words popped in a unique way for us. Father is right. Their wedding to one another really feels meant to be and designed by God.
Karen and Jimmy, we are so excited for you as you begin your life as husband and wife. God has so many good plans for you! Meeting and spending the day with your wonderful families showed us another piece of your story. They are so wonderful! Your marriage will be a blessing to you, your families, and all those around you. Continue to stay close to God, searching out and following His will, and you will never be disappointed. We will continue to pray for you both and for the future that you’ve begun together.
Love,
Amy and Kyle
