Our Signature Process
I. The Consultation
Your photographers (and videographers, should they be a part of your day, too) spend more time with you than any other vendor on your wedding day. Because of this reality, it's really important to make sure there is good chemistry! We might arrive as a vendor, but we always leave as a friend. It's important for us to meet each other to determine if we're a good fit or if someone else could serve you better!
II. Engagement Session
All of our couples receive a complimentary engagement session as a wedding gift from us. Engagement sessions are great for so many reasons! They provide you with photos from this short and sweet stage of your relationship, get you comfortable with being on the other end of our lens, and help all of us to get to know each other so we feel like old friends by your wedding day.
III. Timeline
As wedding photographers, we have seen so many different wedding days! Because of this, we have a pretty good idea of how long various events take, what stresses people out, and what usually makes the timeline fall behind. By building your timeline together, we can help ensure your wedding day will be as stress-free as possible. Don't worry; we'll help to execute that timeline on your actual wedding day, too!
IV. Wedding Day
The greatest day of all! We arrive ready to serve you and your loved ones. Throughout the day we'll keep our eyes on the timeline and make sure you never need to worry about the time. We're always ready to come up with a plan B if things don't go according to plan. Most importantly, we encourage you to keep your sights on the most important things throughout the day.
V. Image Delivery and Prints
You'll receive a sneak peek at your wedding images within the first week following your wedding, your custom blog post within two weeks, and your full gallery in thirty days. We deliver your images through an online gallery and you're able to order prints directly from the connected shop, or download your images and print from a lab of your own choosing.
VI. Albums
If you decide to purchase a wedding album from us, we will begin designing your album spreads at this time. We offer three rounds of revisions to ensure the end product is one you'll always love and cherish. One day, these photos will be in the hands of future generations who may only know you through these photos, so we want to make sure your album is just perfect!
This is Amy's favorite part of the wedding day because there are so many excited emotions running through everyone! When we first arrive, we start the day by capturing your wedding details and candids of hair and makeup. Before heading to Mass we're also busy capturing the bride getting into her dress, the groom and groomsmen getting into their jackets and ties, often a first look between bride and dad, and a few bridal and groom portraits!
Details & Getting Ready
Next comes the part of the day which motivated us to become wedding photographers in the first place: the Nuptial Mass. We never become experimental during the Mass. Instead, we have a tried and true routine dictating what each of us is capturing. We shoot from the back or while sitting in a pew, and only walk up the side aisles to capture your vows (and the consecration when couples are kneeling off to the side instead of in front of the altar). We don't want to distract your guests and we want to remain reverent. We'll capture exactly what we need to tell the story of your Mass, but not much more.
The Nuptial Mass
Other than a few moments while getting ready, this is one of the only times of day where we have say in posing and location! Portraits usually start with family formals inside the church, then bridal party and husband and wife outside of the church or at the reception location. We will tell you, your family, and your bridal party exactly what to do so nobody feels awkward and everyone has fun! Most couples sneak away from their reception with us for another set of husband and wife photos at sunset.
Portraits
We've made it to Kyle's favorite part of the day! Your DJ will keep the timeline moving along and we will capture all of the reception events as they happen: introduction, first dance, parent dances, toasts, and the open dance floor.
Reception
Although we used to, and you'll still find family sessions on our blog, we are focusing only on weddings at this time.
Do you photograph families?
Since the engagement session is a complimentary gift from us, we are unable to provide any sort of compensation should you not want to use it. We highly recommend you do use it because it's great to get to know each other before the session.
What if we don't want an engagement session?
We provide an experience that allows our couples to relax and trust us to help their day run smoothly. The price is about so much more than just the photos! You're paying for the experience, posing, culling, editing, and more!
Why is wedding photography so expensive?
Your high-resolution images will be delivered via an online gallery. This is an awesome way to receive images because you can order prints directly from your gallery and easily share your images with loved ones.
how will we receive our images?
If you are further than 50 miles from our home in Emmitsburg, MD, we will provide information about our travel fee at the time of your inquiry.
What is your travel fee?
We do not. The experience we offer has been carefully curated and so much has gone into the consideration of a fair price for what is provided. You won't regret investing in your wedding photos that will be passed down from generation to generation!
