Mr. and Mrs. Amuso

As wedding photographers, we see so many prayers answered on wedding days. There have been rainy days that turn to sun after Mom prayed without ceasing for sun on her child’s wedding day, there have been last-minute dress alteration disasters that are solved after much prayer, sick loved ones who live long enough to celebrate on this side of Heaven with the couple, and the list goes on. It makes us think about how much prayer happens behind every wedding day. There are so many faithful souls who bring each couple, and the details of their day, to God, and we often don’t think much about it. We were reminded of just how many years can go into praying for the couple and their wedding day when Veronica’s father, Glenn, took the microphone at Veronica and Tommy’s wedding reception.

He recounted how he and his wife, Nancy, prayed for Veronica and their other daughters while they were growing up. Specifically, they would pray for Veronica’s holiness and for her vocation, and if Veronica was called to the vocation of marriage, that she would find a faithful man like St. Joseph. Standing at the front of that room with his eyes fixed on Tommy, Glenn was witnessing to the fact that God had answered their prayer for Veronica.

Veronica and Tommy, praised be Jesus Christ! Thank God for the divine appointment that brought you to that conversation in a car with Sleigh Ride playing on repeat. There was no accident in how you met one another. The grace acquired from all those years of prayer was unleashed! Prayers and graces will keep you together your whole lives long. Your wedding was beautiful, but it was just the start of an even more beautiful journey. May God bless your marriage! We will continue to pray for you!
