The sun’s light faded to that familiar gold. It hung low in the sky and illuminated everything with warmth. Jenna’s dad, Joe, stood in the doorway. Half of Jenna and Paul’s families were seated inside of the venue, and the other half were out on the patio. As he held the microphone in his hand, all eyes were on him. Jenna is the first of Joe’s four daughters to marry. The rooms fell silent waiting to hear the thoughts of this first-time father of the bride. Joe opened his heart and he spoke.
He reflected on his desires, as a parent, for his children. They should change the world and make it a better place. Joe turned his attention to Jenna and Paul’s faith. It was their Catholic faith that first connected them, and it is now their faith that sustains them. By Joe’s calculations, that’s how you change the world. That’s how you make it a better place: love God and help others to know Him. The fact that Jenna and Paul live and share their faith is enough to instill the confidence that their parents have been successful. As Joe handed off the microphone to Paul’s dad, Paul Sr., the proud smiles on both of their faces revealed that both families feel much the same about Jenna and Paul.
Jenna and Paul, as we’ve edited your wedding photos and reflected on your wedding day, the love your family and friends have for you was so tangible. With your reception being made up of mostly family, with the exception of a small handful of friends, your celebration was so intense and complete. From Jenna getting ready in her childhood home to Fr. Dave, such a close friend, presiding over the nuptial Mass to Jenna’s grandmother wiping away tears during your first dance as husband and wife, you were surrounded by those whom you love, and those who love you. The entire day was a testament to God’s work raising up holy families. It was such an honor for us to serve you as you established your own family! We hope all the best for you, and will continue to pray for you!
Love,
Amy and Kyle
