When Gabi and Ethan inquired with us to shoot their October 2026 wedding, we were super excited. Although we had yet to meet either of them, we knew that they had heard about us through Gabi’s maid of honor, Lexi, who is a friend of our family. Serving our fellow Catholics has made our time in this business simply amazing. In Psalm 1:3, the God-fearing man is described to be “like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” Our couples all show us a different representation of this tree, and we’re blessed to see how God is working in this world as we get to know and serve them.
During our consultation call with Gabi and Ethan, they told us about how their wedding plans were coming along. They had originally made plans for a location that they thought would suit them best, but noticed signs early on that maybe it wasn’t as good a fit as they had originally imagined. Surrendering this original idea, they allowed God to lead them to another plan—His plan. The pieces fell together, as they always do when God is orchestrating, and their wedding day is coming together beautifully. It’s not the original plan they had in mind, but by staying close to God like the tree planted by streams of water, they are seeing God’s plans prosper.
Gabi and Ethan, your wedding plans basically affect one day of your lives (granted, a very special and important day!), but your marriage is lived day after day until death do you part. We were so touched by your flexible response to changing your original plans around, and thought this demonstrated an incredible docility to God’s will. After nine years of marriage, we can say that docility to God’s will is going to help you more than you can imagine in your married life! God always brings things about in His way and in His timing, and how great it is to work with Him instead of against Him. One saying our family lives by is, “God always and only wills what is good for us.” Keep this in mind, and you will set yourself up to receive all of the blessings (both obvious and disguised) that He wishes to give to you. We’re so excited to see you and your marriage prosper!
In Christ,
Amy and Kyle
