Our vocation helps us get to heaven. Even within the same vocation, there are differences in how we are called to live it out. The Lord hands us different crosses, and He gives us different strengths. But there are universal aspects to all vocations; take selflessness, for instance. Being able to go out of yourselves to help another is essential for all who strive for holiness. In the case of marriage, we selflessly serve our spouse, family, friends, and larger community. The better grasp one has on selflessness, the more prepared they are for this type of service, and for marriage!

No two wedding days are alike, because no two couples are alike. We learn a bit about each couple we serve while planning for and shooting their wedding. Claire and Matt are family-focused, and their willingness to share their wedding day with their family showed how ready they are for a holy marriage. From taking time to celebrate Uncle Steve’s birthday at their reception, to sacrificing husband and wife portrait time in order to allow for more family formals, Claire and Matt showed their priorities! Because of the foundation on which their marriage is being built, they are already prepared to live selflessly.

Claire and Matt, we are joyful to have celebrated your wedding day with you! Undoubtedly, you are surrounded by family and friends who love you deeply. There was so much joy from the first moments of the day until the last song played on the dance floor. We’re all so happy for you two and for your new family that’s now established! Your selflessness has paved the way for your friends and family to feel loved, and now you’re ready to love one another well. We’re so excited to see how your story continues to unfold!
