Faith & Will

engagements

The tall grass brushed across our shins. Yellow caution tape wrapped around the playground next door. Silence fell heavy all around us. The sun tucked itself neatly behind the tree line, but allowed its hazy rays to shine through branches on the trees. Occasionally, the sound of children’s laughter pulled our attention briefly toward the nearby road. The field’s solitude provided the perfect backdrop for us to observe Faith and Will’s love for one another. Their smiles and laughter radiated joy all around.

If nothing else, the pandemic has reinforced the importance of strong, holy families. Holiness must begin at home, and home begins at the altar of marriage. We’ve always known that we hold a privileged position as wedding photographers since we get to witness people entering into their vocation firsthand, but during Faith and Will’s engagement shoot we realized the real perk to our job: we have the honor of getting to witness hidden moments and interactions that will form families’ cores once their marriages begin. The way Faith laughed and joked at Will after he said, “I’ve had more experience with photoshoots than you.” How together they were unable to keep a straight face and continued to erupt into giggles and laughter. How important it was for Will to showcase his watch that Faith had gifted to him. Identifying the species of the nearby trees. It all gave us a peek into what a day in the life of their family might be like.

Faith and Will, we’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: we are so happy you’re not waiting to get married! Seeing your friendship and love for one another drew us into your excitement for marriage. Although your wedding day will not look how you originally imagined it, that’s okay! It’s just the beginning of your life together as a family, and there will be plenty of twists and turns on that road, too! Thankfully our Lord sits on His throne and looks down and speaks to you: “I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). We are praying for you and are so excited to be with you on your wedding day!!

Love,

Amy and Kyle
